Argentina 1990 - A Story Worth Losing For

What is The Vault

The Vault is a cinematic multimedia platform that retells the most important moments in football history through three interconnected formats: an illustrated novel, a video saga, and an original soundtrack.

Our first release is Argentina 1990: the full story of Argentina's World Cup campaign in Italia 90. 36 illustrated chapters. 20 cinematic video episodes. 32 original compositions. All delivered through a private membership portal.

The novel puts you inside their heads. The video saga shows you what the world saw. The soundtrack connects both.

This is not a documentary. Not a podcast. Not a recap. It is a new format that does not currently exist anywhere else in football media.

A STORY WORTH LOSING FOR
CHAPTER 12 OF 36

THE LIMP,
THE LIE,
THE LEGEND

Chapter illustration

The circus had begun. And he was its owner.

Four years had brought him everything he ever wanted: a World Cup, a city that adored him, and a crown that finally felt earned. He had become king of Naples, its heart, its fury, its salvation.

Even the paparazzi had become tolerable. After all, the world was supposed to watch. They had to. He was entering a new era of his legend, not chasing validation, not silencing critics. That part was done.

Now came something else. Now came history.

This was the second World Cup. The one that would tie him with Pelé. The one that would erase all doubt. The one that would make the crown permanent.

He sat alone in the locker room before the walkout. Taped the toe tight. Flexed it once. Winced, just a little. No one saw. No one ever could.

Breathe in. The pain would wait. History won’t.

What Makes This Different

The novel puts you inside the dressing room, the treatment table, the hotel corridors. It reads like literary fiction but every scene is sourced from real interviews and accounts.

The video saga follows a sculptor traveling through time, immortalizing each moment through art. He can see everything but touch nothing. Think The Crown, but for a World Cup.

The soundtrack was composed scene by scene, beat-matched to every chapter and episode. Born from the filming, brought back into the book. 32 original tracks that connect both perspectives.

The portal ties all three together. One login. A custom reader with embedded music. A video player with streaming episodes. Works offline.

Possible Story Angles

We’re not here to tell you what to write. But here are angles that might spark something:

The FormatA multimedia storytelling format that doesn’t exist anywhere else in sports media. What does it mean for the future of football content?
The StoryThe untold psychology behind the most controversial World Cup run in history. What happened in the treatment rooms, the hotel corridors, and the streets of Naples?
The TeamA small team spent 14 months building a novel, a video saga, and a soundtrack from a studio in Lisbon. What happens when a lean creative team goes all in on one story?
The Positioning“We don’t fly any flag.” A football media company that refuses to pick sides. Can neutrality be a brand?
The TimingLaunching months before the 2026 World Cup. Is football nostalgia the next content wave?
For PodcastsThe founder is available as a guest. An hour on what really happened behind the scenes at Italia 90: the self-injection before the Brazil match, the water bottle incident, the Naples semi-final, and the psychology of a team that knew they couldn’t win but refused to lose. That’s an episode.
